What the business can actually do
Kanri is one commerce engine with capabilities branching off it, not a shelf of products sold together. What follows is what a company has when it runs on Kanri, grouped the way the domains are grouped inside the system.
The record
What every business needs whatever it sells: one ledger, one partner register, documents that get issued and kept, and approvals with a route somebody can read.
Finance
One ledger that everything in the business reaches — balanced, dated, in its own currency at its own frozen rate. No figure in a report without an entry behind it.
Business partners
One register for the customer, the supplier and the subcontractor, and the terms every document inherits from it.
Documents
What the business issues and what it keeps: templates, attachments and numbered certificates whose provenance can be shown.
Approvals
Who approves what, when it escalates, and what happens while the approver is away.
Operations
For businesses whose unit of profit is a job rather than an item — a project, a trip, a work order, an inspection nomination. These capabilities do the work and charge its cost to the job that caused it.
Jobs and costing
The job is the unit of profit. Every cost and every pound of revenue reaches one, so you know what a trip or a nomination or a contract earned — not just what the month did.
Field service
Work performed at the customer’s location: a work order, a crew dispatched, a ticket, a sample, and a certificate at the end of it.
Logistics
Goods moving, domestically and across borders: trips and legs, consignments, lanes and rate cards, customs formalities, and driver cash settled on return.
Assets
The productive capacity you own: plant, fleet and instruments, with their meters, maintenance and calibration.
Workforce
People and their capacity to work: the employee, the crew, the current competency, and the hour with its cost.
Compliance
Evidence that what you committed to actually happened — rather than the claim that it did.
Stock and channels
For businesses whose unit of profit is an item moving through a location, priced, bought, sold and counted on the same engine as everything else.
Inventory
What is on hand, what is committed and where it is — a movement ledger that reconciles, valued by the costing method you choose, not a number in a table.
Purchasing
Request for quotation to award to purchase order to goods receipt to supplier invoice, matched three ways before a payable is ever raised.
Sales
Quotation to order to fulfilment to invoice, priced from the customer’s own list and checked against a credit limit that counts what has not been invoiced yet.
